INTRODUCTION

Blood components and medicinal products require controlled storage and transit conditions to ensure their quality is not compromised. For many years, regulatory agencies have demanded that temperature sensitive products be stored and distributed under conditions, which maintain the safety and efficacy of those products to the patient. This has led to ‘Cold Chain’ best practices and guidelines and appropriate temperature monitoring and mapping is a necessary part of this.
